The sealing performance of broken bridge aluminum doors and windows undoubtedly hinges on the sealing strip, which is the most crucial part. Of course, high-quality sealing strips can provide even better sealing performance. Ordinary sealing strips are what we call recycled sealing strips. Due to the defects in their raw materials, recycled sealing strips do not perform well in all aspects. As a result, this kind of sealing strip will have an unpleasant odor when smelled, similar to the smell of a sewer, and it definitely fails to meet environmental protection standards. Moreover, its material is relatively hard and has poor flexibility. Since the sealing strip of our windows will be squeezed every time the window is opened and closed, the sealing strip must have excellent flexibility.
Now let's take a look at this. It is a sealing strip designed for the current doors and windows industry. We call it a medical-grade silicone sealing strip. For this kind of silicone sealing strip, it has very good flexibility, and its waterproof and dustproof effects are better. However, except that it has a bit of an odor, it is not very environmentally friendly.
The flexibility of this sealing strip is extremely soft. After continuous twisting and releasing, it can immediately bounce back to its original state. We stretched these two types of sealing strips respectively. This recycled strip is very hard and difficult to stretch outward. The silicone sealing strip is very easy to stretch, so the silicone sealing strip has excellent flexibility.
In addition, when installing broken bridge aluminum windows, we also need three types of sealing materials, namely glass glue, waterproof glue, and foam adhesive. The first sealing material is foam adhesive. After the window frame is installed, foam adhesive is needed to fill and seal the gaps between the window frame and the opening. Its function is to fill the gaps. The faster the foam adhesive cures, the better its bonding and sealing function will be. Generally, the drying time of foam adhesive is about ten minutes, and the drying time varies with the seasonal temperature. Usually, in summer, the drying time should be about half an hour.
The second sealing material is waterproof sealing glue. Waterproof sealing glue is applied to the foam adhesive after it has been cut. However, it is worth reminding that if you are only replacing the windows in your home, waterproof glue should be applied to both the exterior and interior walls. If the mouth needs to be wrapped and tiles need to be pasted in the later stage of the construction site renovation, generally only exterior wall glue is required.
When applying the exterior wall glue, we first need to use a brush to clean up the dust and debris so that our waterproof sealing glue can be applied evenly and straight. If the waterproof glue on the exterior wall is not even and straight, the window will leak air and water.
The third sealing material is glass glue. Glass glue is applied at the connection between the glass and the profile to bond the gaps between the glass and the profile. When applying glass glue, it must be applied evenly and smoothly so as to better ensure the sealing performance of our windows and prevent air and water leakage in the future.
